TAFT MAKING GROUND. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 15, 1.5 a.m. New York, June 14. President Taft continues to hold a lead in the allotment of delegates at the Chicago Convention. Roosevelt to-day secured eight, and Taft eighteen. Altogether Taft has secured 159 contested delegates and Roosevelt thirteen. Sentiment is growing in favor of Senator Cummins as a compromise candidate. The Democrats are awaiting the result of the Republican Convention before nominating a candidate.
