Poultry.—At our mart on Saturday our pens were taxed to their utmost with birds of all classes, forward pullets and purebred cockerels being in good demand We quote:—Hens (old) Is 4d to Is lid, young 2s 3d to 3s; pullets, forward 3s 2d to 5s fid, young Is Id to 2s 6(1; cockerels, young Is 7d to 2s, fat 2s Od to 3s; Duck*, Is !)d to 2s fid drakes 2s 6d;pure bred brown leghorn pullets 10s Od; purebred brown leghorn pullets (laying) (is 3d purebred brown leghorn cockerels 10s Od, silver wyndotte cockerels Gs to fls; turkey hens, 4s (id to ss; gobblers, 7s to Bs. The usual line of auction sundries realised satisfactory prices. Fruit,—During the week this lias been in short supply, consequently prices have hardened. We quote: Bananas, ripe 3d per lb., green lis 6d to 15s; oranges, originals 6s 6d to 7s, repacks 8s 6d to 9s; lemons 7s fid to 10s; apples, best colored deserts, 7s fid to 9s, others 5s Od to 0s 3d, cookers 5s Od, to fis Gd; mandarins, 13s case; pears, dessert, 9s to 13s Od, cooking, Gs to Gs 6d; pumpkins, 5s 6d sack; passion fruit, 4s fid.
