TROUBLE IN PALMERSTON. liy Telegraph—Press Association. Palmerston N., Last Night. Judge Chapman to-day granted a decree nisi in the case of Henry Russell Gaisford, in divorce, from bis wife, Ethel ,• Louise Gaisford, on the ground of her ;', adultery with the late E. A. Pownall, a J. Masterton solicitor. There was a counter ' charge by Mrs. Gaisford against her husband also of adultery, and a large bar was engaged by the various parties and the court was crowded. Mr. Dolan, J. for Mrs Gaisford, however, withdrew her. petition, and did not defend the husband's petition, witnesses having proved adultery. A decree nisi was consequently granted. The parties were married on July 13, 1900, anil were well-known. There are two childnn. The parties have been separated since EasteT, 1910.
