WELLINGTON POULTRY SHOW
A SUCCESSFUL EXHIBITION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Wellington Poultry, Pigeon and Canary Society opened its thirteenth annual exhibition to-day. A very good assortment of birds was penned. The entries included 250 poultryj 200 pigeons, and 300 canaries, the latter figure being a record. Canary fanciers from outside districts are strongly represented. Of a vey long list of special prizes and trophies the following awards were available this evening, and others will be made out to-morrow:—Society's tenguinea trophy in poultry classes, J. Iremonger, won with a Silver Wyandotte cock; Fanciers' Cup, value £5 ss, for most points in Silver Wyandottes, J, D. Iremonger; Fanciers' Cup, valued at £3 3s, for most points in White Wyandottes, R. Wanden; Fanci-ers' Cup, value £2 2s, for most points in Black Rosecomb Bantams, C. Brattle (won outright); shield for most points in modern Hame, F. Murphy; gold medal for the best Bantam shown, T. Wilkinson; Magpie Cup, value £0 (is, for the best magpie pigeon, G. E. Hales; Frill Cup. value £0 os, S. Otley; Foglia and Copp's trophy for the best Oriental Frill pigeon. J. Goer. Six North Island championships were competed for in certain groups of the canary sections, but the figures were not worked out to-night.
