FEDERAL LABOR CAUCUS
MATERNITY PAYMENTS. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Received 13, 12.50 a.m. Sydney, June 12. The Federal Labor caucus discussed the programme of the coming session. The proposals include a maternity allowance. A Bill is to be introduced providing for a grant of £5 for every child hereafter born and registered in Australia. Mr. Fisher claims that this will protect many toilers and others, and assist in preserving child life.
