The New Plymouth racehorse Draft broke down so badly during the progress of the Auckland meeting that his owner disposed of him by the simple process of giving him away. It is doubtful if Draft will ever race again. While in Wellington last week Mr. G. V. Pearce, M.P., interviewed the Minister for Internal Affairs (Mr. G. W. Russell) with reference to giving totalisator permits to the Hawera Trotting Club and the Patea Racing Club.
