THE REEFTON DISPUTE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Reefton, Tuesday. Proceedings in the mining dispute are getting worse. The citizens' committee met last night and resolved to ask Mr. Colvin to offer his services to both sides, with a view to returning to the state of affairs which prevailed in October last.
UNEMPLOYED THINNING.
Reefton, Last Night. The Miners' Union is holding an important business meeting on Thursday night. Every day sees the Tanks of the men unemployed thinning. Most of the single men have obtained work elsewhere, and comparatively few are hanging about. Feeling against the Arbitration Court is getting very bitter.
STRIKE FUNDS. Westport. Last Night. At a meeting of the Westport General Laborers' Union to-niplit about 250 were present. It was decided to make a levy of 2s! fid per week per man, equivalent to ;" per cent, on wages, "i behalf of the families of miner s ; at Waihi and Reefton.
