PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
PRESIDENT TAFT. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. New York. June 0. The National Committee at Chicago decided to give President Taft the 48 contested delegates, and the others are expected to follow. President Taft's chances are thus enormously increased. OFFICIAL BICKERING. Received 10, 9.30 p.m. New York, June 10. The Chicago National Committee has already added seventy-two delegates to President Taft's list, and none to Roosevelt's, but so far only the claims of the Southern delegates have been dealt with. Mr. Roosevelt is annoyed at the committee unseating two Alabama delegates and substituting others who he declares had no right to vote at the convention. He adds that before now selection officials have been gaoled for deeds not a whit worse than the committee is perpetrating.
