EMPIRE PICTURES. There was a fair attendance At the Empire Picture Palace last night, when the current programme was screened for the second time. A number of interesting films were shown. Of these the star, "La Rouge Rose," received warm applause. An interesting film showing fresh water fish taken from short range was both amusing and instructive. A scenic of the Civil War, illustrating the Battle of Pottsburg Bridge, by the well-known Kalem Company, was loudly applauded* Besides these there was an excellent programme of the best dramatic and comic films. A feature of the show was th# splendid music of the orchestra, which has greatly improved under the direction of Mr. Carbides.
