Their extravagant spending attracted attention. They had £B3 between them, and each had a revolver in his possession. AN AMERICAN ROBBERY.. - Sydney, June C. Unsigned bills valued were stolen from a bank at Pittsburg, America, in November. The bank dispatched the numbers to money changers^throughout the world, and learned that they had circulated in Europe and South America. An American tourist cashed £SOO worth of these bills recently with Cook and Sons. The man was traced by the local police, who cabled to America for instructions, but did not receive any, and the suspect sailed for Vancouver by the Zealandia. - ; ' ■>'
DISAPPOINTED CRACKSMEN. Adelaide, June 6. The burglars who recently secured me haul from a safe at the railway station obtained the same night £4l from the booking-office. It was known that the news agent had several hundred pounds in his possession on Monday, and his residence was visited in the evening when the occupants were absent. It was ransacked thoroughly, but the intruders were not rewarded, as the newsagent, having lost money previously, keeps none in the house now.
SIX RAIDS. Received 6, 9.20 p.m. Sydney, June 6. Burglars raided six residences in Beecroft. Their hauls were small. MASKED BURGLARS. Adelaide, June 6. Masked burglars ransacked the house of Mrs. Allen and secured £2, threatening to shoot Mrs. Allen if she attempted to give an alarm. The burglars escaped.
