WOOTTOX CENSURED. Received 5, 12.40 a.m. London, June 4. The Jockey Club has decided that Wootton must ride Gingling Geordie in the Derby instead of Mordred. The stewards expressed strong disapproval of Wootton's carelessness in making the engagement. °
THE SPRING HANDICAPS. Received 5, 12.40 a.m. s Sydiiey, June 4. The entries so far received for the Epsom Handicap number 158 and for the Metropolitan 131. Local entries for the Melbourne Cup totalled 88 and for the Caulfield Cup 80. The Melbourne entries are not available.

Levin, Last Night. The second day's racing of the Otaki Maori Racing Club's winter meeting was held to-day in fine but cold weather. The public attendance was good for an of day, but speculation was not brisk, and the total handled was nearly £2OOO less than on the second day of last year. The racing was good and some little fancied runners triumphed, as well &« some favorites. Though a high wind blew, the course continued "holding," and the times were decidedly slow. The following are the details of the racing:— Telegraph Handicap, of 80 sovs; six furlongs.—Prosper 8.10, 1; Lady Volga 9.2, 2; Miss Vena 7.7, 3. Piriwai .8.11, Boronia 8.2, Katua 7.13, Kina 7.11 Goldsley 7.10, Overhead 7.3, Serenity 7.3. Ladino 7.0, and Fiondora 7.0 also started. The winner led all the way, and won by two lengths, with a length between second and third. Time, lmin 5 3-ssec.
Huia Handicap, oE 220 sots; one mile. —Merry Frank 7.5, 1; Mulga Bill 7.12, 2; Bally Shannon 6.13, 3. Khamsin 8.7, Byron 8.1, Sea Queen 8.1, The Rover 7.11, Lady Menschikoff 7.0, Sir Tristram 7.6, Labor Day 7.5, Lady Moutoa 7.1, and Bonnie Boy 7.1 also started. After a good finish Merrj Frank won on the post, Bally Shannon being two lengths away third. Sir Tristram was prominent in the straight and finished fourth. After running in the ruck over tk« flrat mile Goodwin Park moved «p, and, jumping well, won rather easily by three lengths. Half a length separated second and third. Time, 3min ssec. Stewards' Handicap, of 80 soys; seven furlongs.—Shuja 8.6, 1; Waikehu 8.12, 2; Panthea 6.7, 3. Easy 7.9, Moutoa Girl 7.9, Kina 7.5, Lambton 7.4, Arokahou 7.3, Gordon Bell 6.7, and San Port 6.7 also started. Kina and Easy were prominent in the .early stages, but Ki-a burst a blood vessel and was pulled i> >. Easy, hard ridden,ran fourth, well behind the placed horses, Time, lmin 34 j 3-saec.
Railway Handicap, of 120 sots; six furlongs.—Bootle 8.10, 1; Mon Ami 7.5, 2; Allurement 7.11, 3. Hermia 9.3, Makara 8.0, Sir Frisco 7.8, Mara 7.4, Piriwai 6.13, Deploy 7.4 (inc. 81b over), Parawanui 6.12, and Lady Fran 6.8 also started. The placed horses showed out a furlong from home, and Bootle waa never troubled, though Mon Ami finished resolutely and faster than anything else. Time, lmin 20 3-ssec.
Ohau Hack Welter, of 90 sovs; one mile.—Blend 8.0, 1; Kilrain 8.11, 2; Strategist 9.6, 3. Brown Trout 10.0, Foreshot 8.2 and Royal Maid 8.0 also itarted. The placed horses led all the way, and Blend swung into the straight with a two lengths' lead. Kilrain, under pressure, ran the winner to a head, but Strategist was well' beaten. Time, lmin 49 3-ssec.
Fiual Hack Scurry, of 80 sovs; five furlongs.—War Queen 8.7, 1; Lady Louisa 8.7, 2; Miss Jean 8.7, 3. Frecher 8.7, Shady Girl 8.7, Facsimile 8.7, Invicta 8.7, Black Lupin 8.7, Abercoed 8.7, Borsil 8.7, Stockade 8.7, Biddy 8.7, Waiwetu 8.7, and Peggy 8.7 also started. A Sydney cablegram announces the death of Mr. T. Lamond, the veteran horse trainer. J. Olsen has been suspended by the Dunedrn Jockey Club for six months for crossing in the Invennay Welter. A Sydney cablegram states that the inquiry into the New Zealand horse Hautapu losing a lead bag in yesterday's steeplechase resulted in the owner being fined £lO.
