THE STRIKE FUND. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Yesterday. The Huntley miners took a ballot yesterday on the proposal of the Federation for a 10 per cent, levy on the wages of affiliated unions to assist the miners on strike. It is reported that there was a substantial majority in favor of the proposal, but, owing to the number absent on holiday, the meeting was adjourned to enable absentees to record their votes.
