The proprietor of the picture theatre at Villareal, which was burned, leading to the incineration of a large num-. ber of persons, has been arrested, tho performance being unlicensed. FRANCE'S VITAL STATISTICS. Paris, May 29. There wero 742,114 births and 7/6,983 deaths in France during the year. There were 307,888 marriages and 13,058 divorces. THE COFFEE TRUST. New York, May 29. Mr. Knox has recommended to Mr. Taft the withdrawal of the civil suit against the Coffee Trust, le*st complications witli Brazil should ensue. Mr. Taft is considering Mr. Knox's suggestion. CHURCH UNION. London, May 29. The reports of committees of the Established and United Free Churches, who were inquiring whether the union would be favorably received by the general assemblies at Edinburgh, show that some Free Church speakers doubted the stability of the union while any element of establishment remains.
