THE GAMBLING CIRCULAR
A POSTAL PROTEST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. A meeting was held to-night of the Auckland branch of the Post and Telegraph Officers' Association to protest against the circular in reference to gambling issued by the PostmasterGeneral. There was a large attendant'. The meeting unanimously condemned tJio action of the Postmaster-General, and considered the circular an insult. Ti• - following resolution was carried, wlii"'i will roach the Minister through the proper quarter: "That this meeting emphatically and respectfully resents the Tecent circular issued by the Recretarv of the Post and Telegraph Department in regard to gambling! In view of the existing regulations and the strict observance thereof we consider it absoutcly uncalled for, and, furthermore, an nterference to an unwarranted degree with our liberties as citizens of the State. Therefore, we respectfully ask that it be withdrawn."
