AMERICAN ..WHEAT SUPPLY. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. 1 • London, May 29. i The American visible wheat supply is 6,554,100 bushels. • . WESTFIELD STOCK SALE. At the Westfield yards fat cattle were yarded in average numbers, and first quality improved in price. . Inferior fatted sold at late rates, prime oxen selling at 20s per 'loolb, others 23s to 255, cows and heifers IDs to 22s per 1001b. ■ Steers sold at from £G 12s Gd, to £l3 2s 6d, cows and heifers £5 os to £9 17s Gd. The veal pens were well filled and sold at late rates. Heavy vealers sold to £3 Is; medium weights '£2.2s to -£2 14s, others 20s to 38s, smaller and fresh dropped 5s to 12s y a d. Sheep were yarded in larger numbers than usual, and .showed an improvement in price. Best ■wethers sold at from 10s to 20s 3d, others 13s to 15s 3d. ewes 10s Gd to 15s 6d. Lambs sold at late rates. First quality Ms !)d to 14s 3d, others 7s to liOs.- 'Pigs were yarded in good numbers and sold at late rates. L. A. NOLAN AND CO.S REPORT. Messrs. L. A. Nolan and Co. report for the week ending May 30, 191,2: Poultry—On Saturday we had our pens well filled. The birds were in very fair condition, and prices consequently showed an improvement. We quote:— Hens, fat Is M to"Zsi3d, ordinary Is 3d to Is Gd; pullets, to 2s lOd; cockerels. Is 4d to 2s 10d; roosters, Is to Is Gd; ducks, .Is Gd to 2s 4d; turkey hens, 4s 3d. Fruit.—'Large consignments of apples have come to hand. The jnarlcet is firm, with a good demand for first grade lines. We quote:—Jolmathans, 5s Gd to Gs Gd; Stunners, Os to 7s; Northern Spy, 7s to 7s Gd; Pvomanites, as to 5s Gd; oranges (repacks), 7s Gd to 8s; bananas, ripe, 2%d; grapes, dross Colman, local, 9d to Is lb; pears, dessert, half-eases, .js to os; cookers, 3s to 3s 9d. ' WEIt'STKU BROS.' REPORT. Poultry.—At the mart on Saturday our poultry accommodation was heavily taxed, about 300 'birds being penned. Priacs showed a decided advance on the previous week. We quote:—Hens, old Is 4d. to Is ltd, young 2s itd to 3s 9d; pullets, vouug Is Gd to 2s 2d, forward 3s Gd! to 5s Id; ducks, fat Is Od to 2s Od; drakes, 2s 4d; cockerels, young Is 4d to Is Bd, fat'2s to 3s; turkey gobbler, 0s Gd; hens, 5s 3d; p.b. Minorca hene, 7s each; bantams, 7d to Is Id. The. usual lines of auction sundries, realised satisfactory prices. Fruit.—During the week small quantities of apples and pears have come to hand, consequently prices have started to harden. Prices as under, according to quality and size of cases: —Bananas, green 14s Gd to 15s, ripe 3d lb; oranges, repacks, 9s to 9s Gd case; pears, dessert 5s 9d to lis Gd, cookers 3s Od to 4s Gd; apples, colored dessert 6s to Bs, cookers 5s 6d to Os Gd; lemons, 7s to 8s; pumpkins, 5s Gd s.ack'; cape gooseberries, 5s to 5s fid; passion fruit, 3s 6d to 4s; peanuts, 2y 2 d; cabbages, Is 9d to 2s Gd j sack.
