"Vanity Fair," one of the standard novels of the English-speaking world, had been submitted to the cinematograph dramatist, and the very fine impersonations bv .some of the greatest dumb-show actors 1 and actresses which the New World has produced were at once a marvel and a delight. "Vanity Fair," as re-told by the living pictures, is an entrancing storv. The Kalem Company was represented bv . the sensational railway drama, "A Flash in the Night," and no one could complain of the manner in which this story of a hero was portrayed. Some of the scenes were realistic in the extreme. ■■ whilst the whole subject bristled with I excitement, which was reflected in the audience to a state of intensity that j once was associated only with the finest ', dramas and the finest dramatists on the stajre. The wordless play, however, sun- J plies all the thrill of a three-hours' I drama in a few minutes. It is drama ] in tabloid form. "The King's Pardon" 1 was another sterling series. The programme was excellently arranged, so that the tense excitement of the drama was followed by side-splitting laughter at the numerous humorous pictures, and wholesome interest in pictures of educational value. A reminder is given of the full programme to be shown at Saturdav afternoon's matinee, which commences at 2.30 sharp. • Parents, bring your children. They will be delighted, so wilP you.
