• SOUTH BROKEN HILL. Sydney, May 29. South Broken Hill's last dividend brings the total distributed to a million pounds.
IN QUARANTINE. Sydney, May 29. The Yawata Mam's passengers are quarantined, but there is only one case of smallpox.
TIMBERYARD BURNED. Sydney, May 29. Dettmann's timber-yard at Arncliffe was destroyed by fire. A fireman, named Wolferton, was killed by a falling chimney. The damage was' £6OOO.

A couple of the Orvieto's belated passengers swam after her, and one named Woolful was drowned.
A SENSATIONAL VOYAGE. Adelaide, May 29.
The ship Port Adelaide, from New York, had a sensational voyage dnrintr a aeries of gales. A big sea carried away the wheel and took two seamen. Carson and Braste, overboard. Both were drowned. The vessel was uncontrolled till another wheel was fixed. She rolled and strained alarmingly. The gale stripped her of sails, and considerable damage was done. The deck cabin was flooded and a great part of the stores spoiled. At the height of the storm the_ first mate, Fowles, was found dead in his cabin from heart failure.
