CONTRADICTORY EVIDENCE. Telegraph—Press Association. Crevmouth, Last Night, ffhe nanitical enquiry into the stranding of the s.s. Kotuku was continued all to-diay, when the evidence of the second officer, the steersman and: the signal sta-tion-master was taken. The evidence was of a very contradictory nature, the vessel'® officers swearing that the vessel did not touch the south breakwater, and the signal station-master swearing she crashed' into it stern first, and was held fast for five or six minutes. The enquiry is creating a good l deal of interest locally, and is expected to last for another two days.
