NEW ZEALAND PAPER MILLS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Monday. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Paper Hills Company the bal-ance-sheet showed an actual net profit on the year's transaction of £4892. This represented l the earnings of two mills •nly. At one there was a great deal of broken, time. The hope was expressed that when tihe Government was revising the tariff it would assist the paper" making industry to compete with that produced by cheap foreign labor. THE MOKAU COMPANY. Palmerston N., Monday. Ini reference to the press messdge from Hastings, the Mokau Company states that it is quite erroneous, as the Clifton County Council has not intimated having taken any further action with regard to their decision re roads. PROGRESS AT TAIHAPE. Taihape, Monday. The turbine of the new hydro-electric scheme started on Saturday, and the first lamp was lighted yesterday. The Coronation band rotunda was used for the first time yesterday.
