HOCKEY.

The Wliakatika (New Plymouth) ladies' hockey team journeyed out to Tikorangi on Saturday and defeated the Kgatimaru eleven by three goals to two At the end of the first ispell Ngatimaru were leading by two goals to one, having had the better of the game. The second half, however, saw a more even anij vigorous contest. Miss L. Rook secured both goals for Ngatimaru, while scorers for the winners were Misses 0. Blanchard, M. Stohr, and M. McEwen. Mr. Robinson was referee. The Waipiti Hockey Club visited Kaponga on Thursday, and were beaten ' bv a team of local ladies by nine goals to nil.
