NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY REPORT. On Friday, 17th inst., I held my monthly Kaponga sale and had a very good yarding and attendance. Bidding was good throughout for all cattle, everything being cleared at the following rates:—Weaner heifers to £1 18s, mixed B weaners 16s fid to £1 8s 6d. fat cows £4 lGs to £5 lis Gd, forward cows £3 14s to £4 6s, store cows £2 12s fid to * £3 10s, old cows £1 10s to £2, bull £2 7s 6d to £5, 20-months steers £3 6s to £3 12s, 20-months heifers £3 12s 6d, choice springing heifers £7 2s Gd to £8 2s 6d, good £5 to £6 los, plough £6. At Rahotu on Tuesday, the 21st, there was only a small yarding. The demand was good for best quality weaners and yearlings. Store cows yarded were of poor quality and were dull of sale. '£6 15s, £6 6s. MATTHEWS, BENNETT AND GO'S REPORT. Matthews, Bennett and Co. report that there was a fair yarding of cattle in their Inglewood yards on Wednesday last. Prices were about the saw. Calves, 20s to 255; good do., 26s to 365; store cows, £2 to £3 ss; empty heifer-. £3 10s; in calf heifers, £3 10s to £4 ss; bulls, £2 to £3 7s 6d; f.f.m. ewes, 7s. At the mart on Saturday last w«aner pigs brought 5s to Bs. LOAN & MERCANTILE OO.'S REPORT. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. ('Stratford branch) report as follows:—• On Friday, 17th inst., we held our usual monthly sale in our Te Wera yards, when we had a full yarding of 229 cattle and 65 sheep, most of which were sold under the hammer or afterwards at the i following prices:—Good empty heifers 62s 6d to 655, weaners (small) 13s 6d to 27s (for fair quality), fair store cows 51s, good forward cows 87s, 20-months steers 58s 6d to 65s (poor colors), wellgrown 3-year-old bullocks 127s 6d, lambs 7s 6d (fair size). On Tuesday, 21st inst., we held our usual fortnightly sale in our Stratford yards, when we had a yarding of 500 cattle, which realised the following prices:—Mixed weaners 31s to 34s (for good stuff), weaner heifers 35s to 42s 6d (for medium quality), empty heifers (Shorthorn sorts) £2 lis 6d to £3 15s (for colored), 18-months steers £3 5s to' £3 10s (for a very nice even line); a [ line of 2-year steers off the hills realised £4 7s 6d; 20-months heifers in calf (small) £3 9s to £5 10s (for nice quality), 2y 2 -year Jersey springing heifers £8 10s, store cows £2 to £4, forward cows £4 4s to £4 lis,, fat cows .£4 15s to £5 Is. We also disposed of a small dairy herd in our yards, on account of Mr. W. Holmes, at most satisfactory ■ prices, Holstein cows being in great demand. Holstein cows realised £7 10s to £8 2s 6d, ordinary Shorthorn cows £5 5s to £7 12s 6d. , During the week "we have disposed of ; several lines of stock privately at full market values, as follows:—Poor lambs 6s 6d to 8s 6d for a nice line, woolly lambs fls 3d, 2-tooth wethers lis, 4-tooth wethers 13s, 4 and 6-tooth ewes 15s, fat ewes 13s 3d, mixed weaners 31s to 355, yearling steers £2 Bs, yearling heifers£2

Messrs Abraham and 'Williams report on their Johnsonville sale as follows: — A heavy yarding of both sheep and cattle came forward, and sold well at late rates. Prime heavy bullocks £lO to £lO ss, prime bullocks £9 10s to £9 16s, light £8 15s to £9 ss, vealers 24s to 265, prime wethers 17s to 17s 6d, medium wethers lfis 6d to 16s Bd, light los, prime ewes 15s Id to 15s 7d, medium ewes 14s to 14s Bd, prime lambs 12s Id to 12s 7d, store lambs 9s Gd to 9s Bd. WESTFIELD. 'At Westficld (Auckland) there wa.s a moderate yarding of beef. The demand was v'.'ak. Tens of extra choice sold at equal to 26s per 1001b, ordinary quality ox sold at from 23s to 245, and cow and heifer at equal to 20s to 245. There was a large yarding of veal, which, sold lat late rates. Heavy choice runners brought £3 5s to £4 ss, choice suckers 30s to 455, others 5s to 245. There was an average yarding of mutton. Prices were irregular, but on the whole were slightly firmer. Extra heavy prime wethers made 17s 6d to 20s 3d, ordinary weight wethers 15s 6d to 17s, heavy ewes 14s to 16s 9d, others 12s to 13s 6d. There was a moderate entry of lambs. Heavy woolly made 12s to 15s, moderate quality 9s 6d to lis, stores 8s to 9s. There was an average yarding of pork. Prices were on a par with late rates. Heavy baconers made £2 5s to £2 15s, heavy porkers 33s to 38s, light porkers 18s to 31s.
