THE WEATHER.
SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. ' Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Department published the following summary and forecast at 5 p.m.:—Summary.—The winds have veered to southerly and southeasterly and increased in force. The weather has been cold and unsetled in most parts of the country and showery, especialy lon the east coast, with snow on some of the higher levels and hard frosts in the south. Forecast.—Present indications are for strong southerly and southeasterly winds squally at times, in most parts of the country, with cold and changeable weather. Heavy showers are probable, on the east coast especially. Frosts r.re to be expected inland at night. The barometer is unsteady, but is due to rise in the south. There is a falling tendency in the north, but little movement indicated at present.
