HOCKEY.

TARANAKI ASSOCIATION. At a meeting of delegates to the Taranaki Hockey Association at Eltham on Tuesday night, it was decided, owing to both the New Plymouth and Stratford Clubs falling out of the competition, that only one division should be constituted. The teams now competing are Waitara, Inglewood, Eltliam, Hawera, and Kaponga (two teams). It was arranged that the Waitara and Inglewood elubs' matches with Kaponga are to be played at Eltham, and that, as the Eltham Club could not economically travel, the Inglewood and Waitara Clubs be asked to journey to Eltham, that club to> defray the expenses of one visit from each club. The N.Z. Association agreed to date Suggested (July 20) for the shield match with Wellington, subject to the Wellington Association's approval. Providing Wellington agrees, the Taranaki representative team will undertake a short tour. The secretary was instructed to try aftd arrange a match with Hawke's Bay for July 17, and to play a Nordern Cup challenge match with Manawatu on the return, the 24th.

Instead of playing a North v. South match on June' 3, it was decided to play a game between A and B teams at Eltham on that date. As a further guide to the selectors a possible v. probable game will he played on July 4. The association decided to purchase fresh jerseys for the reps.

The secretaries of all affiliated clubs are to be circularised asking for the result, with a short detailed account, of every match to be forwarded promptly to the secretary of the association. The following revised fixtures were drawn up:— May 29. —Inglewood .v. Hawera, at Inglewood. May 30.—Waitara v. Kaponga B, at Eltham; Kaponga A v. Eltham, at Kaponga.

June 6. —Kaponga A v. Kaponga B, at Kaponga. June 12. —Kaponga v. Hawera, at Kaponga. June 13.—Waitara v. Kaponga A. at Eltham; Eltham v. Inglewood, at Eltham.

June 19.—Inglewood v. Kaponga B, at Eltham; Eltham v. Waitara. at Eltham; Hawera v. Kaponga A, at Hawera.
