Annie Solomonsen and Mary Lovell, who were arrested on a charge of being concerned in an alleged illegal operation, were before the court to-day, and were remanded for a week. Last nigh I the police raided the premises of William Tie, a Chinese, who was suspected of opium smoking, and secured sufficient evidence to warrant the arrest of Tie, who appeared before the court this morning and was fined .€lO for .having opium in his possession and X.2 for smoking it.
