REBELLION IN TIMOR
APPROACHING AN END. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, May 30. Eastern advices state that the Timor rebellion is still in progress, but the Portuguese authorities have the great body of the rebels penned in a valley, with no chance of escape. Many of the leaders have been beheaded. The ca*ses of the rebellion are the imposition of taxes and the restriction of the powers of the chiefs.
