On Friday, lOtli inst., at my Waiwakaiho yards, I had a fair entry and a good attendance. Bidding throughout was good, every line, except a few badcolored steers, being cleared during the day at the following rates:—Lambs 9s, Jersey weaner to yearling heifers £2 19s (id, grades £1 as to £1 10s, weaner steers £1 2s to £7 7s fid, bad colors 5s to 14s fid, 20-months steers £3 0s Gd to £3 ss, 20-months empty heifers £3 3s to £3 (is, 20-months in-calf heifers £3 18s fid to £4 8s Gd, old cows £1 9s 6d to £2 3s, store cows £2 15s to £3 7s, bulls £3, dairy cows £3 10s. At Stratford on Tuesday, 14th, I had a very heavy entry, all yards and pens being well filled. Store cows did not meet with as good enquiry as at late sales, although prices obtained were about the same. Good weaner to yearling heifers met with good competition, as also did fat and forward cows. MATTHEWS, BENNETT & CO.S REPORT. Matthews, Bennett and Co. report th:>t there was a fair yarding of cattle in their Inglewood yards on Wednesday last. Prices were about the same. Store cows £2 to £3 10s, empty heifers £3 to £3 2s Gd, steers £2 9s to £2 lis, weaners £1 to £1 15s. Private sales during the week:—Three year heifers in calf £6 19s to £9, 2 to 2 1 / a -year heifers in calf from £5 12s Gd to £G, lambs Gs to Bs, wethers 12s to 13s 3d, f.f.m. ewes Gs to 10s, dairy herds | £0 to £9, 2 and 4-tooth ewes 14s.

SOUTHERN MARKETS. ADDINGTON, At the Addington sale there were large entries of sheep and lambs, a good entry of store slieep, and an average yarding in other departments, with a good attendance. In the store sheep class, j four, six and eight-tooth ewes (fair lots) made 14s 6d to 17s, small sorts (same ages) 13s to 13s fid, six and eight-tooth 14s to 16s 4d, two, four and six-tooth (medium class) 12s 6d to 13s Gd, soundmouth lines lis fid to 14s 4d, full and failing mouths 8s to Os Gd, aged lines 6s /id to 7s 6d, merinos 4s to 6s 7d, lambs from half-bred ewes (small) 12s lOd, ordinary rape lambs lis 6d to 13s Bd, others 8s Gd ! to 9s 6d, wethers (forward sorts) 15s to 16s Id, two-tooths and low-conditioned lines of mixed ages 12s 3d to 13s fid. Fat lambs—Tegs 17s 3d to 19s 7d, extra to 20s lOd, average weights 14s to,j 17s, light and unfinished 10s to 13s 9d. Fat sheep—Prime wethers 18s to 21s, extra to 80s, others 15s lOd to 17s fid, merino wethers lis I<l to lis 2d, prime ewes 14s fid to IDs 9d, extra to 23s fid, others 10s 7d to 14s, merino ewes 10s Bd. Fat cattle—Steers £7 15s to £ll 15s, heifers £5 5s to £ll 12s 6d, cows £5 IDs to £9 10s; beef realised 22s to 25s per 1001b, according to quality. Store cattle—Fifteen to eigliteenmonths sorts 35s to 40s, two-year steers £4 12s to £4 15s, two-year heifers £4 15s, dry cows £1 10s to £4 ss. Dairy cows were represented by a good yarding, ami for best classes there was free demand. Prices ranged from £4 to £ll 17s 6d. Fat pigs—Choppers 60s to SOs, one pig of extra good quality and weight making £5 14s. Heavy baconers 02s Gd to | 70s, lighter sorts 50s to 60s (equal to 5%d per lb), heavy porkers 42s 6d to 48s, lighter 35s to 40s (equal to sVod per lb). Store pigs—Large sorts 30s to 37s Gd, extra to 42s 6d, smaller 18s to 28s 4d, weaners 10s to 14s.

BURNSIDE. At Burnside 189 fat cattle were yarded, consisting chiefly of cows and heifers. Prime bullocks realised 19s per head more than last weelc, and cows and (heifers sold at last week's prices. Best bullocks £lO to £l2, extra heavy £l2 10s to £l3 17s Gd, medium to good £8 to £9 ss, light £6 10s to £7 10s, best cows and heifers £7 to £8 10s, extra heavy £9 to £lO 15s, medium £5 to £6 10s, light £3 10s to £4 10s. Fat sheep—3o7s were penned, the bulk lonsiating chiefly of ewea, mostly good to

prime. Prime wethers met with good competition at prices Is a head in advance of late values. Best wethers 19s to 21s, extra "22s to 23s (id, medium to good 17s to 18s (id. li.irht los to His Gd, best ewes lfis Gd to 17s (id, extra heavy 18s to 24s (id. medium to good 12s to 14s Gd, aged and inferior 8s to lis. <Fat lambs—Prices were Barely on a level with last week's high rates. Pigs—Porkers and liaeoners were not in such keen demand as was the case last week, and prices were 5s to 10s lower. JOB X SON VILLE. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale as follows:—We offered a good yarding of sheep and cattle to a good attendance of buyers.
