AIRSHIPS FOR FIRES. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 17, 11 p.m. New York, May 17. The airmen's convention at New Jersey discussed the practicability of using aeroplanes for extinguishing fires. Most of the members thought the idea absurd, but others saw no reason why fire extinguishing chemicals should not be used similarly to bomb-dropping in warfare. Their use for sky-scraper fires was particularly recommended.
