Before the High Court an application was made on behalf of the shipping companies connected with the Vend case to fix the date of hearing of the appeal. Counsel admitted that it was an application for an adjournment, as appellants were unable to have the printing done by July. The Chief Justice, in declining the application, declared that there "were still two months, during which enough printing could be done to cover all the cases heard by the court for several years. The fact of the matter was that somebody was too tired.
