L. A. NOLAN AND OO.'S REPORT. Messrs. L. A. Nolan and Co. report for the week ending May 15, 1912: — Poultry.—On Saturday we had a very large entry, over 200 birds being penned. Prices throughout showed an improvement on the previous week's, and were as follows:—Hens, Is 8d to 2s 4d; ordinary, Is 3d to Is 8d; pullets, 2s 8d to 3s 4d; roosters, Is to 2s Od; cockerels, Is to 2s 7d, according to size; ducks, Is 2d to 2s 4d; drakes, 2s 2d to 2s sd: bantams, 8d to Is; Brpwn Leghorns, 13s. Fruit.—Very little offering excepting apples and oranges. Prices were about the same as quoted last week. Appleß, Northern Spy, half-cases, 3s Od ,to 4s; Johnathans, bushels, 6s to 6s 3d; Lord Wolseley, 5s 6d to 6s; Lady Hopetown, 5s 6d to 6s; tomatoes, 3s to 4s 3d; grapes, Gross Coleman, 9%d; outdoor grown, 4d to 6d; oranges, 8s to 8s 6d; pears, cookers, bushels, 6s to 6s Gd; dessert, half-cases, 4s 6d to 5s 3d.

WEBSTER BROS.' REPORT. Poultry,—At the mart on Saturday our pens were taxed to their utmost with birds of all classes. Prices showed an advance on the previous week's lists, forward pullets and ducks 'being keenly sought after. Prices as follows:—Hens (old), Is 4d to Is 8d; young, Is lid to 2s 6d; pullets, young, Is 3d to 2s; drakes, 2s 4d to 2s 6d; cockerels, young, Od to Is 4d; fat, Is 8d to 3s; turkey gobblers, 8s; bantams, 8d to Is. The usual line of auction sundries realised satisfactory prices. Fruit.—During the week large shipments have come to hand from Nelson, Auckland and Hawke's Cay, consisting mostly of apples and pears. The quantity accordingly has caused a glut in the market, and prices are somewhat cheaper. Prices as under, according to quality and size of cases:—Apples, dessert, 5s to 7s Od; cookers, 4s to 5s (id; others, 3s 6d to 4s 6d; pears, dessert, 5s Od to lis 6tl; oranges, repacks, 9s case; bananas, 3d per lb.; passiofa fruit, 2s fid to 3s 6d; grapes, best Gross Coleman, Is 2d to Is 3d per lb; lemons, os Gd' to 8s 6d, according to quality; cauliflowers, 6s .3d. sack; .cabbages, Is 3d to 2s Od sackj,pumpkins, 5s 9d 'sack.
