DISTRICT NEWS.

EGMONT ROAD. (Prom our own correspondent.) I am in receipt of a copy of the programme from the secretary (Mr. L. W. Bishop), of the Egmont Boad Sports. The list is rather an attractive one, and some of the events are decidedly novel. Tn the evening a concert and dance will take place in the hall. Arrangements are being made to provide a really good concert. I understand that several gentlemen from New Plymouth have kindly consented to contribute items. When I say that Mrs. George's orchestra has been engaged to provide the music for the dance, tivers of the light fantastic will have no cause to complain. All that is required is fine weather, and those who have never seen this beautiful sports ground before will, I am sure, bo well pleased with the outing.

The place to spend a happy day, A jolly day, a holiday, Ts Kgmont Road, I've heard them sav, On the 23rcT of May. And the people that may come from town, Just turn up that road close by Mangaone, It's only two miles up to the sports ground, The prettiest spot for miles around. And if you care to enjoy a dance In the Egmont Road Hall, you may have the chance. With excellent music, and first-class lloor; Tf you're fond of the pleasure, what can you want more?
