RUSSIAN INTRUSION. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, May 14. Afghan intrusions in to Persia have provoked a protest from Britain under the treaty of 1857. It is stated that the real cause of the protest is the augmentation of the western garrisons of the Afghans owing to Russian activities at Meshed.
