The regulations for the universal training scheme, under which the first batch of ten thousand senior cadets are to be drafted into the military forces in July, have been published. They also cover the reorganisation of the existing infantry and light horse brigades. The national regiments of English, Scottish and Irish in the various States disappear, the members being embodied into the. forces newly created. Provision is made for the immediate creation of four new batteries of field artillery.
