On Tuesday, May 7, I held my usual sale of above produce. Consequent on there being no sale last month there was a large offering, comprising 54 bales and 281 sacks wool, 5493 sheepskins, 1524 hides, 47 casks, 5 kegs and 155 tins tallow, and 605 calfskins, besides the usual quantity of hair, .tails, bones, etc. These met with very keen competition, prices all round being very firm. Wool—Only straggler lots are now coming forward, fleece being at par with late rates and lambs showing a farthing higher. Skins—A good market nt unchanged prices. Hides —No first-class line of ox offering, the quality catalogued, however, selling well, with keen demand. Cow hides declined %d to Tallow—Competition was brisk and prices advanced 5s per ton.
