MEXICAN UNREST
A REBEL DEFEAT. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received 15, 12.40 a.m. Mexico City, May 14. A preliminary engagement resulted in General Oiozco's defeat. Orozco attributes his defeat to the superior artillery the Federals used. The losses are believed to he heavy. Tlie rebels, under General Salazer, Orozco's lieutenant, reported that they were ambushed in a canyon and almost annihilated. One report states that a thousand were killed.
