A WOMEN'S PROTEST. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 14, 12.40 a.m. Melbourne, May 13. The Women's Political Organisation asked Mr. Fisher to cable a protest against the Hon. Lewis Harcourt publicly opposing the women's franchise. They urged that as a representative of the colonies in the Imperial Cabinet he ought not to expound hostility to an accepted law in Australia. Mr. Fisher replied that he could not interfere with politicians, who -were free to determine their attitude upon public questions.
