PASSIVE RESISTERS
ACTIVE RESISTANCE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Tt was in the minds of anti-militarists to hold a meeting of protest in the Post Office Square this afternoon. They held their meeting, and it was a meeting of protest, but the protest was mainly against the anti-militarists. Various speakers essayed to address a couple of hundred persons, the majority of whom were evidently there for the fun they could get. A large section was much more concerned with enquiring if anybody "had seen Kelly," than with asking if anybody "heard Hickey." In the intervals between the alleged musical numbers small side discussions with the anti-militarists provided entertainment, and an ardent photographer also created a diversion. The meeting, which commenced in disorder, proceeded in discord, and after the speakers had been counted out several times, it terminated in confusion.
