SUICIDE OF A JOCKEY. By Cable—<Pre«s Association—Copyright. Received 13, 1 a.m. Sydney, May 12. The well-known jockey, Lewis Kuhn, , was found dead in bed, poisoned. It is supposed to be a case of suicide. —— _ KILLED WHTLE BUSHFELLING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wanganui, Last Night. A married man named Walter Haycock, residing at Wanganui East, was killed while bushfelling at Waiwera, near Taumarunui, on Saturday. KILLED BY A CHAFFCUTTER. Gisborne, Last Night. , A man named Thornhill Nicholas was driving a chaffcutter at Manutuke on Friday night, when the horse shied and Nicholas in some manner got under the machine. He was brought to the Gisborne Hospital, where he died early this morning. MOTOR CAR ACCIDENT. Carterton, Saturday. A serious accident occurred last night at 11.45 o'clock. Mr. 0. A. Cadwallader was returning to Carterton from Martinborough in his car, when he drove over the north approach to the Black Bridge, a drop of about ten feet. The car overturned and pinned him underneath. It flung a passenger named A. D. Kennedy clear. Simultaneously the car burst into flames, which quickly enveloped Cadwallader. Anneslfiy extricated him, and succeeded in subduin" the flames. Cadwallader was taken to the Daleton private 'hospital. He was badly burned all over, his right arm and two legs being the worst. The burns, though serious, are not considered dangerous. The car js a complete wreck, only the steel frame and the engine remaining. The car was only lately purchased.
