(From Our Resident Reporter.) ( BERNARD'S PICTURES. "" "As good as the best, and better than | the rest," is how the manager of His | Majesty's Theatre to-day refers to the nightly living picture entertainments which regularly delight large crowds. There is a big change of programme for to-night, Including the famous and thrilling drama, "Won by wireless," which gives some slight idea of the wonderful development in Marconi's conquest of space. "The Price of Victory" is an equally good film of a different type, j founded on the "Charge of the Light Brigade" at Balaclava. The charge will never fade from the memory of Britishers, and cannot fail to interest the picture going public to-night. The incidents depicted are remarkably faithful and exciting, and with the brilliant illumination that is a feature of Mnie. Bernard's entertainment the film promises to be something out of the ordinary. Besides this there is the usual fine selection of industrial, topical, comical and scenic pictures, and the public are assured of one of the finest picture entertainments it has ever been the privilege of the management to put before the public.

At the Magistrate's Court on Friday John Xeilsen, a carter, was charged that between the 25th day of April and the Ist day of May, 1012, he did, at Cardiff, cruelly iltreat a horse, by allowing it to wander on the public road without proper care and attention, when it was suffering from an injured knee. After hearing evidence, the Magistrate found there was cruelty in not feeding the horse and permitting it to wander to find food. In fining the defendant £3 he took into consideration the fact that the defendant had washed! the wound. Defendant was also ordered to pi l .} - £1 Is witnesses' expenses.
