When the sun rises in the morning, its rays will cause the cylinders to expand, and so dose valves which ndm it gas to the burners. As the sun goes down and the air cools, the copper cylinders will contract. m> opening the valves and admitting g.'is to the burners, where it will be lighted by a small pilot jet resembling the ordinary by-pass.
