BOROUGH ENGINEER'S REPORT. The following is the monthly report of the borough engineer (Mr. C. Skitrop);~ Patching— About 60 cubic yards of patching' has been done on the following streets: Devon, King, Courtenay, and Powderham streets, and Carrington, Eliot, and Frankley roads. Footpaths.— The following footpaths have been reformed and covered with gaol gravel:— Vivian street, southern side Robe street to Dawson street; Courtenay street, northern side Liardet street to Gover street; Eliot street, eastern side Lemon street to High School gate. Tarring and Sanding.—Eighty-five chains of new tarring and sanding have been done. Kerbing and Channelling.—Liardet street kerbing and channelling is now completed between Gilbert and' Pendarves streets. Tlve kerb and channel is almost completed between Liardet and Gover streets in Gilbert street. LOAN WORK. Streets.—John street: The metalling is completed and only requires rolling. Aubrey street: The metalling is completed, and only requires blinding and rolling to complete, the work. Molesworth street: Very little work has been done on this sfreef owing to the wet weather. Morlev street culvert: This work is progressing satisfactorily, and I should be completed in four weeks. Sewers.—Buller street: The sewer is now laid and all the connections can be ! made. This is the last of the sewers i than can be laid until Leach street is done. GENERAL. The metalling of Liardet street is now being done, and will be completed in about six days. Th'e waterworks caretaker reports everything in connection with the water supply to be working satisfactorily. The weeds at the old waterworks are being attended to.
