SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Department published the following summary and forecast:—Summary: Rain has fallen on the eastern coasts of both islands, and showers are still reported southward of East Cape. Cloudy weather has also predominated in many parts. Moderate to strong south-easterly winds have prevailed. Forecast: Present indications are for south-easterly with fair to cloudy weather, misty at times on the east coast. The barometer has a rising tendency, but is due to fall after from 24 to 48 hour- in the south, owing to an extensive area of westerly low pressure now affecting the southern coasts of Australia.
