Argentine shipments.—Mutton, 185,431 carcases; lamb, 92,800 carcases; frozen beef, 129,750 quarters; chilled, 174,500 quarters. Wheat.—Four Australian cargoes sold at 40s 3d, two at 398 7y 2 d, and one at 39s 6d.
SYDNEY WHEAT MARKET. Sydney, May 8. Good rains in some districts have quietened the wheat market, arid buyers have reduced their limit to 4s sd. AUCKLAND STOCK MARKETS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. At Westfleld, fat cattle came forward in good numbers, and sold at scarcely last week's rates, the quality being good. Best oxen sold to 2fls per 1001b, others 22s to 25s per 1001b, cows and heifers 19s to 21s. Steers sold at from £6 15s to £l3, cows and heifers £4 4s to £9 10s. Veal was penned in the usual numbers. Heavy vealers brought £2 10s to £3 18s, medium to £1 12s, lighter 8s to 19s <sd, small and fresh dropped 3s to 9s. Sheep were yarded in the usual numbers, but showed no improvement in values. Best wethers sold at from 15s 6d to 19s 9d, others 13s 9d to 15s 3d, ewes (heavy weights) 13s fid to 16s, other ewes 8s 6d to 12s. Lambs were in full supply and sold well. Best brought 13s 9d to 16s 3d, others 8s 6d to 12s 6d. Pigs were in usual numbers. Baconers brought £2 18s to £3 Be, large porkers £2 2s to £2 19s, slips 19s 6d to 25s 6d, weaners 7s 6d to 12s.
