TIMBER THEFTS

WHOLESALE ROBBERY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunetlin, Last Night. At the Police Court to-day, before Mr. Bartholomew, S.M., two brothers, named James Alexander Greigand Peter Henry Greig, carters, were charged with the theft of timber valued at £5, the property of Hogg and Co. Peter Greig was further charged with the theft of timber, valued at £B4 17s, the property of Hogg and Co. The evidence for the prosecution was that the accused loaded timber at the wharf, but instead of delivering it in Hogg and Co.'s yard, sold it to various people. Both accused reserved their defence, and were committed for trial. Bail was allowed James Greig in his own recognisance for £IOO, and two sureties of £SO each. Peter Greig was allowed bail in his own recognisance of £2OO on the first charge, and £2OO, with an additional two sureties of £IOO each, on the second charge.
