WOOD TICKS AND DISEASE
ROCKY MOUNTAIN FEVER. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Ottwaa, May 7. Investigations by the Dominion entomologist establish the fact that there is no connection between wood ticks and spinal meningitis. It was previously believed that wood ticks, which are common in many parts of 'Canada, conduced to, if they did not cause, the disease. The entomologist, however, has established that Rocky Mountain fever is due to the bite of wood ticks. The disease is of the spotted variety, and is frequently fatal in Montana and Idaho.
