A MINER'S DEATH. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. Simon Weathcrall, who was seriously injured in Craig's coal mine, at Coal Creek, beyond Roxburgh, on, Friday, died in the hospital to-night. Death was due to dislocation of the spine. A TRAMWAY ACCIDENT. Auckland, Last Night. Two trams collided going up Wellesley street, which is a fairly steep grade, this evening. The motorman of the foremost car sustained very severe cuts on the face. Apparently a short circuit occurred in the control box of the leading car, and it commenced to run back. Motorman Saunders was unable to handle the brakes in the forward portion of the car through am electrical blaze. He promptly ran to the rear and applied the brakes. A collision, however, was inevitable, and both cars were badly damaged, Saunders being injured as stated. His promptitude in applying the brakes prevented a more serious accident, as both cars were Ailed with passengers, all of whom were thrown from the seats by the impact.

A BUSH ACCIDENT. Auckland, Last Night. The trucks on a bush tramway at Manumui collided with a tree on the line and were piled up. A man named Kirkton was frightfully injured, sustaining a fractured thigh, a crushed hand and cuts on the head. He was removed to the Taumarunui hospital.

| MOTOR CAR FATALITY. : Waipawa, Tnesdav, A Maori man and woman v-re killed this afternoon by a motor car capsizing. A BUSHFELLING ACCIDENT. Gisborne, Tuesday. Allen Reid was bushf elling at Waimate on a steep hillside about ten o'clock this morning, when a tawa tree on which he and his mate were engaged kicked as Reid was putting in a back scarf, and fell, pinning him to the ground. His mate extracted him with difficulty, and then went to the nearest homestead for assistance. One of the rescuers rendered first aid, and at 10.30 a.m. they set off to carry the injured man to a waiting buggy; three-quarters of a mile away. The country was so steep that the journey was not completed till 3.45 p.m., after which Reid was driven to the Gisborne hospital. He ia suffering from shock and a broken leg.
