BURGLARS IN SYDNEY
A LIFE SENTENCE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 7, 9.25 p.m. Sydney, May 7. Alfred Smith was found guilty of breaking into a house at Randwick and also with shooting at Thompson, the occupier, with intent to mvder. He was sentenced to fourteen ycrs' imprisonment on the first count, anl to imprisonment for life on the second count. The judge remarked that he would leave it to the executive to decide what the sentence meant.
Two burglaries were reported to-day. In both cases small hauls were made.
