THE MISSING DREDGE
PROBABLY SUNK. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Monday. The Encounter and the Pioneer have returned from an unsuccessful search for the missing dredge Manchester. They covered the routes between Wellington and Sydney and the North Cape and Sydney. The commander of the Encounter is of the opinion that the Manchester has sunk. One of the Pioneer's crew is suffering from mumps. Pratique was granted after inspection by the Health Officer.
