The man known as Bill, who was recently arrested in connection with the anarchist outrages, was released, for lack of evidence. Blanchet Courtenay, a young dressmaker, lodging in Renert's house, really informed the autnorifci*. . The police believe that a secret conclave of Nancy anarchists decreed that Renert should be avenged. Blanchet was lured to a lonely part of the road. Bill then fired at her, missing. Blanchet then fled to a tramcar. The conductor saw her running and signalling wildly, but did not stop because it was not a usual halting place. Bill finally shot Blanchet. The foresters are surrounding the forests of Tray, where it is believed that Bill is 'hiding. A POWDER EXPLOSION. Received 6, 9.45 p.m. Paris, May 6. Five barrels of powder exploded at the railway station at Nancy. There were five fatalities, and four people were seriously injured.
