THE NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. The first medal competition for the St. Andrew's Cross and Club Button was played on Saturday, play being rather interfered with by westerly showers. The Cross was won by E. S. Bayly with the good net score of 79. The competition was confined to players with handicaps of 12 and under. The following are the seven best cards:— ' (Iross Hp. Total E. S. Bayly 90 H 79 J. Paton 85 4 81 A. Bewley 82 F. S. Johns 33 1 82 W. Bewley 85 3 82 E. Bary 85 3 82 D. Hutchen 94 12 82 There was also a medal competition for players with handicaps of over 12, which was won by J. Johnston, with the good score of 87—17—70. The play-off for the ties in the Medal Handicap on April 20, between A. Bewley, V. Elliot and R. A. Gray, was won by A. Bewley.
