The Massachusetts Republicans have selected President Taft on a State preferential ballot, but at the same time selected the entire State delegation at large, favoring Mr. Roosevelt. The situation is unparalleled in the history of the United States. Mr. Roosevelt, when asked for his opinion, favored the delegation voting in President Taft's favor, as an equitable solution of the difficulty.
